H1B Visa Stamping Question

I'm planning to go india this year. I hear that "who have a U.S. visa that expired more than 12 months ago", they are NOT qualify for appointments in the visa renewal category. i'm worried on my case because my Visa stamping was exp. in oct 2008.

Please help me, If any have same situation.

It does not matter much. That question only has to do with the consulate's internal process (unknown) and does not affect application outcome. Every Visa application is a new application, renewal is only a lay term.
