I am not sure it is too late for this post, but I recently got my appointment for Dec 1, 2010, Mumbai.

Mine was a very hurried decision to travel and had to fill up DS-160, etc in few days.

I think, but I may be wrong, that the trick to getting an appointment date is to enter your DS-160 bar code and HDFC barcode in the VFS online appointment system to get a clear indication of the available dates...else we get some weird location contrary to our choice...like I use to get Kolkata more often.

One thing I can tell you is you will definitely get a date in Dec'2010, just that you need to check online continuously.

Checklist Question

My appointment is on Dec 1, 2010, Mumbai.

I have a couple of questions regarding the checklist:

1. What does this mean: "Dependents need to submit a copy of the principal applicant’s Notice of Action has not started) and visa copy."

2. Original Interview appointment letter. Is this the online PDF letter we get from VFS when we seek an appointment date?

Can't i select the option of "Indian resident"?while selecting this option I see dates avialable in ND.

H-1B stamping new delhi

hey poddar, I am looking for the same date, ideally last week of december. Reading through the forms, it seems like the dates open and close during the specific time and for Delhi dats till 3rd december are open. Do you have any clue regarding what time we should be checking the dates for updates? I am on MST and trying to get my H-1stamped for the first time.

I just called up VFS helpline and he says that dates have not been released for Hyderabad yet. there ia different processign and rules of opening dates for different consulars.

Apparently, he told me that if my wife is a Indian Citizen residing in India, then i need to apply only from that consulate, meaning if she is from Hyd, then she needs apply from Hyd and cannot apply from anywhere else. This is so weird and irritating!!! th VFS website shows, the one where you go and check for available dates, that i can apply from anywhere.

Are these guys even accountable for all the mess they are creatign and misguiding us?

Hi,

I tried more than 100 times to get ND dates, and finally got that.

I think they open dates on every monday morning IST 6-8 AM.

Success at last

Finally got Chennai dates for December 3rd. I believe there is a discrepancy between the "Earliest Available Appointment" calendar and the "Calendar" that opens up when you actually start putting in your information. So I suggest that for people that are desperate get all your information ready and go through the few extra steps (Passport expiry date etc.,) and then see if your date is available.

Stressful two weeks because of a stupid VFS system !!!!!

Last Step in Appointment

Can someone tell me if clicking on the date is the final step in the appointment scheduling? I'm looking for Dec 6th at Mumbai (not renewal) and I think its about time they open it up. I'm just running through the appointment screens to make sure i have all the information required at hand. Currently I've stopped at the final calendar screen. Will i need to provide more info once I select the interview date in the calendar? Hopefully second week of december hasn't opened yet, except for Kolkata (which is as open as it can be).
