Booking interview slot in different consular district

Hi,

I plan to attend for visa appointment interview in November 2010. I belong to jurisdiction under Hyderabad consular district, but since there are no open dates for interview at Hyderabad center, can I alternatively book slot in chennai.

You can do that. You might have to prove the need to do so, incase VO asks for it.

Hi OP,

As per books - if you are returning from US - then you can book the appointment in any consulate.

But if you are in India/home country and staying at the address for some time - then you SHOULD book the appointment at the consulate that falls under your region.
