Back in 2017, I had my H1B picked in the lottery and approved. I didn't travel and hence did not get it stamped. However, I quit the company and 3 years later, I've joined back. My role now is different than what I applied for in 2017. From what I've spoken so far, I realise that I will have to apply for an H1B extension. But my questions are:
Thanks,
Vish
- Since my role now is more of a senior manager/leadership rather than an individual contributor, Will i have to apply for an new petition or just an extension?
- My existing passport expired when I applied for the petition and I now have a new passport, will that have any issues?
- If there is a new petition now because of the new role, will this still be out of cap or will I have to go through the lottery process again?
- Will the break in between me joining back have an impact on the petition?
Thanks,
Vish
