Hi,
My i-797 is expiring in Jul 2023. I need to go to India in Nov 2023 and looking at the current scarcity of visa appointments, I want to book my appointment for Nov 2023 immediately. My company will apply for an extension in Jan/Feb 2023. In the meanwhile, can I fill up my DS-160 according to the expiring I-797 and get my Nov 2023 visa appointment? Is it possible to just update the forms and switch to the new I-797 after booking the appointment?
