Hi,

I applied for H1 visa recently, and I am still waiting for my result..donno how long it takes to know the result..I am currently on H4 visa.
but due to some reasons, i am planning to apply for F1 now.. got admisison in a university too..My question is:

Can I apply for F1 visa when my H1 visa is still in process?? If I get my F1 visa in few days, what will happen to my H1 visa process?
please help me as soon as possible.

>> Are you talking about going out ofthe country to get the F1 visa or just filing a petition for a COS from H4 to F1? Either way, read about the last action rule. If your F1 gets approved first and later H1B gets approved, then your status will be H1B. When you are in H1B, you need to work and get paid to maintain the H1B status or you will go out of status. If your F1 gets approved after the H1B, then you need to stop working immediately and should start attending school.
