H1B visa ext... stamping received 221g blue slip - additional administrative process

Hi
I attended visa extension stamping on aug 24th 2010 at chennai US consulate. I was not asked any documents and I was given 221g blue slip saying additional administrative processing is required. I was not given any case id to check online status also and for this query there is no way to check online status. Even though I contacted twice chennai consulate, there is no proper response.

Plz share your information if anyone have idea about these kind of queries...
how long usually this kind of queries will take approximately etc etc...

Search for posts related to 221g in immihelp. Each case is different and there is no definite timeline for the administrative process to get cleared.

Finally I got reply from Consulate after almost 4 months...
I kept emailing them every week after 2 months from my visa interview date... they kept on replying same answer still in review and will contact once it is completed... even my company also didnot receive any communication...
Lost patience and last week I replied to the email they replied for my enquiry asking i need status or atleast what is going since i am in no mans land without knowing status...
immediately got reply asking to submit ppt & 160 form... by gods grace everything went fine...
no idea whatz going on with these 221g additional administrative processing at all...

I have similar case (given 221(g) saying no documents required at this time and returned my passport and said they need further review my case) except they given me case number . and it's all ready 8th week since I got interviewed, please let me know if u know results of similar kind of cases and how much time it has taken to get that.

Hi, I am in the same boat. They gave back my passport and gave a 221g blue slip for admin processing. Could you please tell me if you got the visa and how long it took. Also if there is any way to follow up/ check the status.
