I went for the interview as scheduled by my husband on Sept 17th 2010....result was gree form 221 (g). Came back the arranged the documents (almost every thing on the form was required. Re-submiited the form with docs on 19th oct.The VFS told me i will get a calll n then u come with passport where as the guy who took my interview o 17th Sept clearly told me to submitt the passport too.
My husband is in the states for the past many months ,i am a multiple sclerosis patient and was going there for better treatment. But now i have no clue as to when will i get to my husband n when will my treatment begin.....
If anyone can help me with information on period/duration it takes in such cases. Kindly help....

Try calling up VFS and send an e-mail to the consulate to check if they can expedite the process. Clearly state the urgency and if possible get a letter with treatment plan from the US doctor who will be treating you.
If the 221g was all related to your spouse's employment documents, then you may apply for B1/B2 visitor visa for medical treatment also. For this you will need medical treatment plan, letters from doctors and proof of sufficient availability of funds and insurance information from your spouse.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Thanks for ur reply...as i am yet to show my case to a doc i the US, i wont be able to provide a doctor's letter stating the urgency (as suggested by u).
what i am more interested to know is ,in such cases how much time does it take for a reply to come from the US embassy??...i have no idea on my case and will call at vfs office as told by u ,this monday...
am getting too anxious/dissappointed about the whole thing...
        pls suggest !!

In such a case a letter from your home country doctor recommending advanced treatment in the US may also help. But remember if you show this reason, you will need to provide bank statements and insurance information supporting your ability to pay for the treatment.

My doctors here in India wont be able to give such a letter stating I need treatment in the US. Also,i cannot declare to the US docs i am already a MS patient as in such a case the US insurance company will not take my case.

Its a trap like situation i am into without my Husband here..
its more than 1.5 months...vfs ppl say that they have no details on the time period.

US Insurance companies which do not pay for pre-existing conditions will not pay for any treatment irrespective of what you declare in a Visa interview. Doctors will know if the condition is pre-existing or not. Inurance companies do not have access to information submitted during Visa applications.
Groups plans of big employers do cover pre-existing conditions, check with your employer's plan.
As to the Visa, looks like you have no option but to wait.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
