Renew expired H1B visa

I had travelled to US on H1B visa in 2012 and then changed my organization in 2015 in US (H1B visa was transferred to the new organization). At the time, I had stayed for 3 years in US on my H1B visa from 2012-2015. Due to personal reasons I had travelled back to India and since then working from India itself. My last H1B petition was valid till December 2017.
I am now looking forward to travel back to US for work. Can I get my expired visa renewed or else will have to file for a new fresh H1b visa filing process and go through lottery process again?
