My current stamped H1B visa is valid till Aug 26th 2023. I am assuming my H1b extension would be completed by May. I am planning international travel on May / June (not to my my home country). Plan is to be back to US latest by July 15th by using the already stamped H1b visa valid till 26th Aug 2023.
Do you see any problem with that?
I plan to carry my new (extended) i797 and while re-entry, I am assuming CBP officer will stamp with a new i94 date of May 2026 (or similar, depending on when extension is approved). Is that a correct understanding? The reason I ask this is because, if the CBP officer stamps with a i94 date of 26th Aug 2023, my i94 date will actually move back from 2026 (after extension) to 2023 by rule of 'last action'. So want to be sure that travel will not impact my i94 date.
