Hi folks,
I am a Canadian citizen that was granted a three year L1-B with employerA. I have since moved to Houston and have resided there for about a year. Since that time employerA was acquired by conglomerateA. conglomerateA is filing an update to my L1-B such that their name will be listed on it.
Now, here is where the complication comes into play...
companyB has since reached out to me and wishes to employ me making considerably more money than companyB. I have accepted an offer from companyB but have not yet informed companyA as I will require an H1 in order to work for companyB. companyB intends to file for the H1 early next week, I suspect that conglomerateB will also file for the employer name change at the same time.
My questions are as follows:
A) Am I exposed to any risk given the (potentially) simultaneous actions occurring on the part of conglomerateA and companyB?
B) Should the H1 be rejected for any reason does this compromise my L1 status with companyA / conglomerateA?
C) Is there anything that should be considered I may not have thought of?
Thanks,
HoustonGuy.
