@Dec_221g - no luck today either! 50 cases or so updated from Tuesday; looks like a trend of 10 cases per weekday.
There are many issues with asking for official help - since it might backfire; but at this time, I am willing to try anything for a solution! If the MEA can take it up with Hillary Clinton visiting; we might be in luck but that is a long shot!

I can understand there might be fear of backfire in approach MEA or someone officially for an individual case, but there should not be issues if we just approach them as group to highlight this issue affecting so many people(anonymus details about the cases can be provided to them) and request them to lay a word with the USA authorities for more accountability and quicken up processing for such cases (not just a indidivdual case)? what do you think about it.

@rks123 - I think it is a good idea; trying to create an online petition on a foum on ******** which I am hoping will be signed by a large group affected by the 221g nightmare that we could present to the MEA and Hillary Clinton.

Consulate: Mumbai
Interview: 6th Jan 2011 (Yellow 221g form, no docs asked)
1st email date: 17th March 2011
passport submitted: 18th March 2011
passport received: 25th March 2011 (Blue form requesting documents, Passport not stamped)

I will visit sometime this week for submitting asked docs.

Lets see how it flies.

@221g_yellow_6Dec - If you thinking about creating a petition, I think even the below link is a good start as it has been already been 'voted' upon by so many people , and lots of people have shared their experiences and also its a official DHS forum. If you do have contacts in MEA do pass this to them and find out thier thoughts about it.

I see ~130 cases have cleared today - anyone lucky?

I have been looking at the DHS and have passed on that link to my contacts at MEA; will reinforce a new one. Apparently, the MEA has approached the issue of Indians stuck in India when returning for their visa renewal stamp with their US counterparts - but something written (like a petition) by the thousands affected would be good to have.

yup my case num is there in tuesdays list !! I will submit my passport tommorow to them..

rks123 - that is AWESOME; looks like we have movement. Keep us posted on when you hear back from the consulate/vfs with your visa stamped on your passport.
Did you also receive the email or was it just your # found in the consulate pdf?

any idea why there is no updated pdf for April on the consulate's website? From their last update - I thought they were doing a good job clearing the backlog.

in their website they have written "due to reasons out of our control they may not be able to update every friday and tuesday"..Also if we ask y our case is pending they will say it is not in our control...so if you decide to go to US consulate make sure nothing is in their hand...everything is in air and if the air blows in the the right direction we will be lucky to get back our visa else wil remain in air forever...........
