Thank you for writing to us.

This is to inform you that if your application is pending under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) for mandatory administrative processing. Please note that there is no definite time for administrative processing . When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary depending on circumstances of each case. Be assured that the U.S. Consulate will contact you if the administrative processing is complete or if they require additional information.

    Regards,

    • Dude .. I think there is no new information in the reply you got from consulate. We all know that there is no set timeline or transparency in this process.

If you drop an email to VFS after 2 months then I guess you will get below response (which I got and it indirectly conveys the same message)

      Dear Sir/Ma'am,

We are in receipt of your below email, the same will be checked with the U.S. Consulate. You will receive a reply once we get the information from the U.S. Consulate.

      Regards,

You said you have submitted documents .. did they give you a blue slip?

      • @india2012

None of the numbers were contacted, whose details I provided in my DS160 form.

My employer's overseas deputation department responded to me saying that I have to wait for my bar code on the website or an email from Consulate. As they have seen similar situation in previous 221g yellow cases.

I dont think I have any other option except just to wait it out

            • You can request your passports back.

If you google it , you will surely find out the exact procedure.

                Hey there,
Thanks for your reply. I know that i can ask them to return my passport anytime i want to....
But its just i do not need my passport at present, and its kind of positive (Not Necessary tho') that they still have my passport..!!! Usually they return the passport and even petition back to USCIS if they have solid reason to i believe..!!! so my case is still at the embassy level, idk what damn process they doing..!!!!
                Thanks..!!!

                • When the case is sent back to USCIS for review, do we have to do something from our end or just wait until we hear back from USCIS?

You can do nothing from your end in that case , just stay in touch with your employer for update from USCIS

                          Not me Also.
I don;t know whether the Seq of CEC barcode matters for them....
It's really frustating.... they should really make this visible instead of keeping like black box for applicant. i never heard Pending work so many time before 3 months.....

                              • cant believe I have waited for this long .. 100 days

100 days .. cant say time really flies coz it feels I have been waiting for 100 years for bar code to appear in the darn pdf
every day I try to keep motivating myself in the hope that the day will come when I will be out of this mess and will be able to live life peacefully for some time at least. Because one or the other thing will again come to trouble me but I am sure nothing will be more excruciating than the wait for this 221g case clearance.

All I can say is be cheerful, spend the extra time you have got with your friends and family.
I also read a line somewhere few days back which all of us can relate to very well ...
