221(g) yellow form during H1B Visa stamping

I have read about similar cases, they request for passport in case they need some information from it and then return back with yellow slip to further continue processing the case.

I dont think there is any other option but to again wait for an email / case number to appear in pdf.

For eg I noticed a case number AA0024MHM5,
it appeared in CSR on April 19th,
the person would have received yellow slip again just like you
and same case number appeared again on this report on June 13th.
(Just a guess .. not sure about it, but it should give you an idea. Your case processing may complete sooner, give it few more weeks)

The difference between our interview dates is around one month, lets see when I get any sort of notification on it. Good to know that people are receiving communications.

I received an email from the consulate on June 11 to submit my passport for final processing.

I received my passport back today (June 15) with another yellow slip for further administrative processing.

Can someone please suggest what should I do now? What options do I have?

green form after yellow form

Today I submitted all the required information as requested by the consulate. My employers sent me an updated job verification letter which I hope can serve as the invitation letter. It is ridiculous that the consulate asked for this information after 6 months. I could have provided this information the very next day after the visa interview. Their email also mentioned that **"they were waiting for this information and hence couldn't process my application yet"**.
That dumb headed VO or CO never gave me the green form asking for the submission of various employment details. Instead I was handed over a yellow form with no information requested and my interview was over within a minute. This means that there was no administrative processing or any thing of that sort was done to my application for the last 6 months as they were waiting for information from my end. What to say now....this is the reality...and problem is we can't do anything...
There should be a mechanism to sue these people for all the financial losses that we have to bear during this waiting period for no mistake from our end whatsoever.
Ridiculous...

I agree. This is beyond ridiculous, they should understand that lot of careers are at stake.

Just another thought - it might also have happened that some other VO reviewed your case for clearance and requested now that these documents be produced.

Anyway we can not change whats done.
We all are waiting for you and Shaha466 to get clearance soon.
That would give us a relief that at least things are moving and we can also expect to hear something in coming days.

No, they dont.

I was just trying to figure out what would have happened, which triggered document submission request after 6 months.
But saying that they were waiting on these docs to be produced, is the most frustrating part.

Consulate : Mumbai.
221g : Yellow with no documents asked.
Interview date between Jan 19, 2012 and Feb 29, 2012.

Congratulations dude .. read in 221g blue forum that you have got the email for final processing and passport submission from consulate ..
regarding bar code in pdf .. for 221g blue it does not appear in pdf, its only the email.

H1B Visa Approved after 221g yellow

Hi All,

I have been a regular visitor of this forum after I got a 221G yellow for admin processing at mumbai consulate.This forum have been a great help in cooling the nerves and getting to know the intricacies of the 221G .

My Case Detail are

18-May-2012 :- Interview at mumbai consulate , Got 221G yellow for admin processing.No docs kept or asked.
4-Jun-2012 :- Ceac Code appeared in PDF.
6-Jun-2012 :- Passport submitted to VFS.
14-Jun-2012:- Passport Received with stamping. Clearance date on visa stamp 1-Jun-2012.

I think i was a little lucky to get out of this sooner. I pray to god for earliest Stamping for the guys who are still waiting . Best of Luck and have patience , you will get it sooner than later.

1. I am on EC model with a reputed US based MNC.There were only basic question asked like company name , client name , salary and Name of Reporting Manager at onsite.
2. No email received , directly case id came on pdf after two weeks.

Not sure about the reason for 221g yellow but most probably name check as I have common muslim name
