Got Visa and back in US

Hello friends, after exactly 90 days my visa was issued and got the passport by courier the next day. Although the wait was long and torturous but I know I got off easy compared to what many others are facing. Did not tried to use an attorney or contacted the senators, that does not seems to help anyways. I used to call DOS but after few weeks gave it up coz u will never get anyting from them as well. I wish best of luck to guys still waiting, pray hard and I hope they will be answered. I dont think this security shenanigan can last long, i think it is a matter of time that due to economic reasons some sanity will set in and they will develop better ways of profiling people which will keep the real bad guys out and help everybody else including US economy. Below are details of my case:

1. Consulting employer? ----No
2. H1B petition approved after Jan 8th memo? (to identify if scrutiny is for pre Jan 8th approvals)--Yes (Premium Processing, got approved in 3 days)
3. Petition type extension/transfer/new?--Transfer( from L1 to H1)
4. First time stamping?--No
5. Stamping interview at Home country?--Yes
6. Consulate location?-_Chennai
7. Advanced education(phd)/scientist?--No
8. Muslim name? ---YES!!!
9. Degree from US? (good to know if stamping in location other than home country)?--No
10. Was 221g issued?--Yes (Pink)
11. Was visa stamped successfully?--Yes
12. Number of days it took for stamping? 90.
13. Other information: No Documents requested Passport retained and was told by Indian lady that it will take max 8 weeks.

congrats my friend ... i'm really happy for you and your family ... yes as you have mentioned in the post wait is the only thing we can do ... i'm following the thread u r the 2nd person on exact 90 days who received a response from USCIS ... i have completed my 50 days ... still counting ...

Thanks maxy_14in. I hope you get back soon enough. Just want to mention that there were no problems at POE, the lady did not even asked for I797. I guess once they see clearance received on visa they get relaxed. The only thing asked was name of company and my present position.

Friends i'm sharing one of my friends exprience with 221(G) yellow slip @ Hyd:

July 11th:

Attended visa interview in Hyderabad on July 11th and got 221g yellow slip to submit additional project description and all petitioner info ... submitted all the docs the same day and awaiting for the processing to finish ...

Aug 15th:

Heard through his attorney via the state senators involvement that the petition is being sent back to USCIS for revocation. USCIS decision might take months, so instead of waiting got his H4 and flying back next Tuesday to pursue the case from there …

Hi All,

I went to the VISA interview on 29th August @ Hyderabad. I work as a full time employee for a Chip Designing company. The interview lasted about 20 minutes. The VO asked for technical spec of the current design I am working on. I dont have that information during the interview. So she handed a 221g- Yellow asking for technical spec of the project with worksite location and additional information. The company later provided a document that covers the info. Submitted the documents on 2nd of Septermber. What might be the turn around time ?

H4 visa Query with unrelated Questions....

Hi,

My wife has gone for a H4 visa stamping on 11th Oct... At the end of intv, she was given a white form where in they checked the box which indicated,, they would be sending in few Questions to her mail and she needs to respond back to those Questions.... and they held back passport... they didnot return the passport to her....

But to my surprise these Questions are no way related to me or her H4 visa... but seems to be asked for someone applying for Student visa...

I have no clue what to respond to these Questions.... as she is just coming to join me and not for some education purpose....

I went for H1B stamping in Mumbai. It was 3-year extension due to I-140 approved.

Visa Stamping Date in Mumbai: 10/25/2011

The officer asked only 1 question. What do i work for my company and handed yellow slip 221G (Admin Processing). This is the second time I got 221G. Last year I got and was approved in 3 weeks. Lets see how long it takes this time.


In DS-156 form, I clearly mentioned that my I-140 is approved and my employer has filed for my GC. not sure if this cause 221G and denial in future due to bad US economy

Please share your experience.

Hi All,
I am a regular follower of this forum. I came India for my wedding in May 2011 and went for visa stamping on 7th, June 2011 in New Delhi embassy as my visa renewal is due.I am working on EVC model.
Vo asked me some basic questions about my educational qualifications and about my client and employer and issued 221g and asked me to submit all the docs at the vfs. I submitted docs along with passports (mine and my wife's) at vfs on 8th june. Recently on 19th September 2011 i recevied a mail from embassy mentioning that my passport was damaged as the lamination page was peeling off and asked me to submit new passport at the VFS. I applied for new passport and submittedboth old+new passportt on 7th of Oct 2011, 4weeks completed after submission and Still waiting for the update. During this process, my wife's passport is still at the embassy.
My question is what could be the reason for demanding the passport, is it to issue visa or for any further processing? My job in USA is still active a the client.

What are the chances of getting visa? Please post your similar exp or expert help is need.

221g Yellow_May2011

I have been issued 221g Yellow form on 12th May 2011 at Hyderabad Consulate. I submitted the documents on 19th May 2011. Since then I have been calling VFS and sending mails once in 10 – 15 days. I am always getting a standard reply that the case is under Administrative Processing.

I went to U.S on H1 and I visited India and got the visa stamped in 2008.

Now I am in the 6th year of H1 and the H1 expires in May 2012. 6 months are already lost in uncertainty due to AP.

What are my chances of getting the visa? (Just wondering if the consulate ever gets back or if they are indirectly suggesting me to forget the case!!)

Mumbai H1B 221g Blue slip on Nov 30, 2011

Hello,

Mine is a new H1B stamping. I have been working for the petitioner for last two years after I completed my Masters in CS from Umass. Everything went smooth while I was in Boston and received my approval within a month from the USCIS.

So I went for the interview at BKC new building for 10:30am appointment. They were letting people in no matter what your time slot, there was a huge line outside and I got inside at around 10am and appeared at the window at 10:25.

There was a Chinese guy at the window. I greeted him, he greeted me back.
VO: show me your passport.
VO: which company?
Me: bla bla
VO: did you get your masters, which field and school.
Me: bla bla
VO: what is your job title
Me: its junior developer for web.
VO: what are your duties?
VO: what is the size of your company?
Me: about 35-39

I work for a strategic marketing firm in Boston. I think that tipped him off and I saw his body language for from positive to negative and he started typing a lot in the computer.

VO: so itis a temporary project you work there?
Me: No. Its a Full time position and projects are both internal and external since we have to create strategies for our clients. My client is one of the biggest financial
Institutions in the world. I even stated the name of the client since he asked.

VO: what is your salary there?
Me: so and so

VO: OK here is your passport, and gave a blue slip. Submit these documents. I told him I have the original petition with me and I can show it to him right now.

VO: I don't have time to review these her, so just submit them.
Me: clearly disappointed, OK thanks. Have a nice day.

VO: you too. Wait how much is your salary?
Me: bla bla.
VO: OK

I was highly disappointed. I work for a small firm in US and all the employees are US citizens and the firm has been operational for more than 20 years. I think the size raised red flag for him and probably my salary since its basic start package.

The documents that are asked for are:
Original packet.
Employers last two year income tax
List of all the employees and a lot of info about each of them including their salaries. :O
My duties and detailed report of what I do there.

I called my attorney right away at 9am EST and she had a call with my company. They were supportive of this and started working right away on all these papers. Attorney said the tax and employee list is a highly classified document and they trust me that I won't open it. She will have it shipped to me overnight asap. I will probably be able to submit the documents on Monday or Tuesday.

Has anyone gone through this? I had return flight ticket on 13 December and now I clearly need to cancel it.

I am just so confused with this. I probably should not have come to Mumbai and just have my parents visit me. I was away for 3 years and so I finally was happy I will get to visit home, but now its not a vacation anymore. Please let me know if anyone has gone through this experience of smaller company.
