I am in a unique situation and seeking advice regarding my change of status from L1B to H1B:
Currently, my L1B status is associated with location A (my current location), while my H1B application was filed under location B. To continue working in location A, I am planning to request an amendment for my H1B to be changed to location A. However, the amendment filing process may take around two weeks to complete, during which time I will be legally on H1B status in location B. My intention is to physically reside in location B temporarily and then return to location A once the amendment is filed.
I would like to clarify if staying in a hotel during this 15-day period would be acceptable and considered as my official residential address. Alternatively, should I only consider taking a rental home on lease? It is important to note that the address during this period will be included in my salary slip, which may be submitted to USCIS for future extensions. I want to ensure that I do not violate any regulations or requirements.
