  • 221(g) - got both yellow and green letter - is it unusual?

    Guys,

I just finished my interview at the consulate with my wife. Have been working with the company since April 2009, got my H-1B approved in 2010.

The visa officer gave me 2 letters - a yellow and a green letter
(in most threads I see people are given only 1 letter and I got 2, are there similar experiences)

I showed the visa officer my approved I-797A copy however, she told me that they do not have my approved petition in their system???????? I am shocked and dont know what to do. Is there any way I can follow up via any phone number or email to see if they could get my approved petition from USCIS? I am completely clueless.

In the yellow letter I am asked to submit the passport, the green letter and PMIS to the VFS?

The green letter asks for submitting the 'invitation letter, resume, research, position, purpose, itinerary etc.' information via an email, which I did and got a standard response.

Should go ahead and submit things to the VFS? I don't have PIMS.

Anyone with the same experience, greatly appreciate the help.

PIMS is a system that the consulate use to check the petitions that has been approved by USCIS. Looks like your petition information is uploaded to the PIMS database yet by USCIS. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time. Now that you have appeared for the visa, the consulate will request USCIS to load your approved petition to the online site and it might take anywhere between 2 days to 2 weeks. This is not new. Search and read about the posts related to "PIMS" in immihelp. Once they can verify your approved petition and if all the other documents are in order, you will get the visa stamped.
Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
