Hello,
I am a citizen of Sri Lanka, currently residing in USA and working on H1B visa. I recently had a H1B extension approved. I scheduled a visa interview at Vancouver BC consulate in November 2023 as a Third Country National. I had to complete and submit Form DS-160 in order to book the appointment.
I have an expired H1B stamp and a valid I-797 until 2026. I typically travel to Vancouver BC via road and use Automatic Visa Revalidation (AVR) to travel back into United States. However, now I am being told that since I submitted DS-160, I won't be eligible for AVR anymore. Is this true? I would not attend the visa interview for another 5 months as the dates are not available. Does submission of Form DS-160 make me ineligible to use AVR?
Thanks.
