Question about h1b visa date for Dec 2010 ( Mumbai location)

Hello,

I hope you both doing good. I had done my H1B visa application from you last December. My friend needs some expert advice from you. Please help.


She is working in US and is going back to India this month for her H1B visa stamping. She has filled and submitted her DS-160 form. Also filled the HDFC bank fees.


Today she saw her date open on the VFS site. While filling up the procedure, the website asks you for " Passport expiry date" . She didn't fill her own passport expiry date by mistake.


Although the passport expiry date is right on DS-160 and also in the same range as her own while taking visa date on VFS site, it doesn't match her actual expiry date.


Now she has taken the date and realized that the date filled on VFS site while taking date is wrong. 2 questions :


1) How important is this passport expiry date while taking visa appointment date. Note that date is right on her DS-160
2) Should she now cancel her date and take a new one ?


Please let me know urgently. Your reply will be greatly appreciated.

It would be best for this person to cancel the current appointment and get the new one with the correct information. Otherwise, he is just taking chances.
