DS- 160 Questions - Pls help

Hi,

One of the DS -160 question is date last visa issued and visa number.

I had my H1B stamped in 2006. The visa expired in 2009. My company filed for an H1B extension. The extension was approved and valid till Oct 2010. Since, I did not leave the US, I did not get this H1B extension stamped on my passport. Now, my company again extened by H1B for 3 years through 2014 ( my gc is in process and hence can extend H1B over 6 years). This time I am going to India for H1B stamping.

So, to answer the DS -160 question above, should I say 2006 & put the visa number or say 2009 (no stamp but renewal recd) and say I d'nt know the visa number.

What got renewed when you are in U.S is your petition and not your visa. The question on DS-160 is clearly about the visa that was last stamped. Check the visa in your passport and fill fill the information from there.
