PIMS Verification - before H1B visa interview

Hi

I am planning to attend H1B visa interview at Delhi in January 2011,

I want to know if there is anything I need to do regarding PIMS verification

or is that taken care by USCIS themselves when they approve the petition and send the information to the respective authorities ?

My Case - Change of Status (F-1 to H1B)

USCIS will send the information to PIMS and it will be available for the VO at the Consulate to view. You have no part in any of this. Sometimes it takes time for USCIS to get the soft copy of the petition loaded into PIMS, in which case, if your petition is not found in PIMS on the date of your visa interview, the consulate will notify USCIS and it will take anywhere between 2 days to 2 weeks to get it loaded. In such case, the consulate will hand you a 221g.

Write an email to VFS helpdesk, Delhi to check if your petition information is already there in the PIMS database or not. People have tried writing emails to the U.S consulate in Mexico and they have replied promptly. Not sure howmuch help you can get from VFS India.
