My employer gave me a signed offer letter with a pay raise in May with significant role changes. My supervisor didn't follow through and sat on the approval letter till late August. The H1-B amendment was filed on 08/31 and approved on 09/07. Now my employer is saying that since the amendment was approved on 09/07, the effective date of the pay raise will be 09/01 and they won't be paying me the raised rate effective since May. I have asked them to consider paying a one time additional pay or anything other way of compensation but they have refused. Is there anything I can do in this situation? Do I have any legal ground at all?
