did he say your case needs admin processing or just visa approved but needs additional information.

Did the indian lady say the time frame to get the visa to hand

ISSUED - update on chennai tracker

Waiting for the passport to see the stamp

Says issued - assuming visa is approved and stamped on passport

VFS passport tracker says passport is ready to collect

So it took me 5 working days on admin processing -

Will update once i see the passport tomorrow in mail

---> He said 'My visa is approvable but need some screening and asked me to goto next counter'

did he say your case needs admin processing or just visa approved but needs additional information.
----> He didn't say anything just gave me 221g pink slip and asked me to goto next counter, there another Indian lady VO asked about my previous employement history.

Did the indian lady say the time frame to get the visa to hand
---> She said 8-10 weeks time for administrative process.

I have been tracking my Visa status on DOS and VFS websites. Today when i entered my passport number on VFS website it says 'Your passport is under process at U.S Embassy/Consulate'. Any idea what this means? Is my Visa approved?

VFS has just changed the text of status message to be more meaningful. Nothing else seems to be changed. Check other posts regarding same.

received passport with h1b stamping

Today i received the passport with H1b stamping on it

It took me exactly 6 working days to get the visa approved

i was assuming it will take 12 weeks but i shld say i am lucky to have got it in Hand

Wanted to keep the fellow members updated on this process!!!

I have no clue where you are checking this status

are you checking on the VFS passport page - to track passport

the only 2 status i saw was - ready to be collected and the other that it has been couriered out to the address

Nothing more than that

Got the approval

Friends,

Just wanted to let you know that I got my approval exactly after 4 weeks. I sincerely wish you all get thru this predicament and get back to work ASAP..

VO said approved and have not got my passport back yet

I had H1B interview on 1st Feb 2011, end of it, VO said you need have lot of preparations for the interview and I am approving the visa and you will receive it in 7 days. But the problem is I am not seeing any status change even after 2 days. But friend had been to consulate with same VO and got the status saying its dispatched? I am getting tensed now. I was not given any slip from VO. Can it be put it suspended now ?? Pls help !! Thanks

You are getting worried for nothing. It is hardly 2 days. Have a little patience. It takes anywhere between 1-2 weeks to get the passport back. The online system is not accurate all the time.

Visa Approved but still gave me pink slip

I had h1-b visa interview at chennai on 30th Sept 2011.She ask me few question regrading my employer and the client.then she asked me for w2 form and i have shown her my payslips.Sje said ur visa is approved and she kept pp,petition with her.Then suddenly she told me to wait and gave me pink slip which say no further action reuired from ur side.Slip is for Further Admin processing.Guy at the other counter ask me about my education and last countries visited.I have visited only USA.he took last four or five pages from my petition which is about my emplyer and my job duties.

I have return ticket booked for 8th october 2011.What do do now?

There is nothing much you can do when a case goes into admin processing other than waiting patiently. It can take anywhere between a week to few months to get the admin process cleared. Talk to VFS and they will tell you how to track your case online. Your case status will not be available online immediately. Be prepared to cancel the ticket if you don't receive the passport by 7th Oct.
