Working on H1B

Hi,

I am going to apply for my H1B once I get my job offer letter. My question was when can I start working for the new client. Is it only after I get my H1B approved or can I start working once I have the receipt number of my application.

Hi, I currently hold a L1 Visa

Your employer can file the petition anytime as long as the cap remains open.
However, you cannot join the new employer until petition approval notice with change of status to H1 is received. Once that happens, you can no longer work for the L1 employer.
