H1-B transfer question

Can I get my h1-b transferred to a new company and join them after a month ? During this time, I want to work for old company, even though my h1-b would be with the new company.

You need to have an approved petition (or a pending extension) to work for the old company. It was not clear from your question whether the old company's petition got expired or if it is still valid.

If the old company's petition remains valid for another 1 month, then you can continue with them and join the new company later.

You can have multiple H1 with you, but can only work for one at a time.

In your case, yes you can work with your old company, unless and until your new employer doesnt start your payroll from the the date petition started.

Ask them to start the payroll, once you join them and resign from old company.
