  • H1B first time stamping and H4 together

    Hi All,
I have got I797 and I am going India this May for my marriage. My H1B case is straight forward, my company had applied for my H1B through its attorney.

I will need to stamp my H1B first time and need to apply for my wife's H4 visa.

Should I go for both Visa interview at the same time or I should get my visa stamped first and go again for my wife's H4 visa?

I will really appreciate your feedback.
    Thanks.

You can do either but going together is better.

      Thanks txh1b

As I have viewed documents required to file H4, I will need my H1B visa stamp copy of my passport to attach with H4 application. In that case ?

FYI: I am going Mumbai Visa consulate.

      Thanks.

You can still go together. Even the first time H1B applicant (without any prior visa in the passport) can take take his/her dependens with them. If you have a visa that is already stamped, then take a copy of it (Even if it is not valid at the time of the interview and that will do).

            I have one more questions.

Can I book my interview appointment before marriage with date of after marriage.?

            Thanks for your support.

Sure can as long as the interview is after the wedding.

                Thanks txh1b,

                One more.
What should I write my marital status in DS160 form? Because I will be single by the time of filling it but married on the day of interview.
Same question goes for my Fiancee/wife too!

                Thanks.

The status is your status as of the date of the interview. Sign and date it on that day.

DS-160 doesn't require printouts and signature. It is completely online.
