I am on H1B visa through my current & only employer and my green card process is also going on with the same employer. My I140 got completed last spring. I am also simultaneously doing my graduation degree i.e. MS - Information Systems from North Dakota university. Based on my performance, the university is interested in giving me a Research Assistanship part time virtual job, for which I need to get in to their pay roll.
My clarification here is am I legally eligible to get in to another payroll, when my current H1B visa is with current employer, who is my full time employer. If I am not eligible, what options me or my current employer or my university have to pursue to avoid any complications with my current work or current employer or green card process.
