Hi, I got a DUI/DWI in texas a couple of months ago bac 0.11 and case is ongoing. No accidents or anything else. My problem is I need to travel to India soon enough as it's been 5 years and there are some imp family issues. My lawyer suggested getting a continuance on the case (pause) so I can travel with ongoing case otherwise there's a court date every month and it will take another 3-4 months to get a plea deal, or I can wait for the case to end then travel. Issue with the second option is, I will be on some kind of probation and it will be hard to travel and get permission from PO/judge while on probation. Waiting till end of my probation is not an option for me unfortunately.
Please suggest any solutions on what is the better option. If anyone traveled during ongoing case or while on probation, please respond it would be very helpful.
