F1 to B2 or H4?

I am about to exhaust my unemployment time on a STEM OPT and have an option to move to H4 EAD and continue my job search as have recently lost my job to lay off. Looking for advice on what is a good option, moving to B2 or H4 EAD? Do I need to go to my home country for visa if I move to H4? Well if you plan to stay in the US for longer than a brief time, and wish to potentially work, then Change of Status to H4 is definitely the better option. You file I-539 for Change of Status (to either B2 or H4). US visas are solely for entry; you don't need a visa if you don't leave the US.
