On H1B in Texas. Haven’t left since i came in oct 2022 because of Family in US fear-trapping me that i might not be let back in the US by either stamping denial or denial at port of entry.

My parents are old and I want to go to see them. I-94 valid till Sep 30th 2025 which is also the validity of my H1B Visa. My passport stamp expired August 2023.

Any advice or insight will be appreciated.

I totally get where you're coming from; it can be really stressful to feel trapped like that. I went through a similar situation with my visa a while back. If your I-94 and H1B are still good, that’s a relief! But definitely prioritize renewing your passport since it’s expired. I remember getting mine done took a bit of time, but once I had that sorted, traveling felt much less daunting. Just make sure you have all your paperwork in order when you come back, and be ready for some questions at customs.
