I joined my employer 10 months ago under L2 visa (EAD) and in september-2010 my employer filed and obtained H1b visa for me. In december I travelled to India for my visa stamping and I got 221g green form. It is has been over a month now and my employer says they can't provide all the documentation requested. They say they are a big company and can not provide details about all their employees and their financials. They are providing me with an affidavit to take to the consular officer. Does this help in my case? My spouse is a student on f1 and I am planning to join him on f2 if the current situation does not get resolved. Please suggest a way out of this excruciating situation

Well, the consulate will expect you to produce the documents requested in 221g to process your application successfully. You can try with whatever documents that you received from your company. If the company is not willing to provide you the confidential documents, then they can directly send it to the consulate. If that deosn't work out, then you can try and get a F2 visa and travel back. Not a legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
