I’m a physician in training on H1B visa. I’m currently interviewing for jobs and would start in August of next year (on a new H1B). One of my potential employers is offering to pay a sign on bonus now if and when I sign the job contract. Does this violate some kind of rule? I’ll probably only take it in January so I don’t have to deal with it when I file taxes for this year.
