I have two offers:
Walmart (Bentonville, AR): Senior Software Engineer, $135k TC, H1B sponsorship.
NYC Government: Solutions Developer, $120k TC, no H1B sponsorship, but aligns with my dream of living in NYC.
I'm currently on F1 OPT. I'm inclined to take the NYC job for a year, experience the city, and then switch to a company that sponsors H1B within the next two attempts. However, Walmart offers immigration security and higher pay.
Would you prioritize the NYC dream with risk or play it safe with Walmart?
