from H1B to Tourist Visa to H1B

Hi,
Let's say you were laid off on h1b visa and had an approved i140. You moved to your home country for a year and then are visiting US on tourist visa. While on tourist visa, you convert a job - will they transfer your h1b visa? (I understand you will need to exit US again for stamping of the latest h1b visa).

Mind letting me know if this is possible?

Hello,
you have an approved I-140, this could be beneficial. Your priority date for green card processing remains intact, and you may be able to extend your H1B status beyond the usual 6 years (through the I-140 extension), provided you're moving to an H1B petition that supports smart square ssm health your green card process.
