  • Planning to visit India - Need H1B renewal at HYD

First let me thank every one for posting all their experiences. Its really helping others to follow and get the updates on what is going on.

I am planning to Visit India and my H1B Visa need to renewed.

    I have following questions.

    1. Is my is going to get H4 Visa eve if my H1B visa is expired, if i am planning to my wife only to India.
    2. Any suggestions for attending Canada instead of HYD for visa renewal. How much risk involved if i attend Canada for Visa renewal.
    3. What kind of people are getting denial, i am i am talking about the patterns, i know of my friend has Muslim name and he struck for around 4 months.

FYI - I have clear record and strong Paystubs/W2s

I am trying to see if i can send my family only or what is the probability coming back if i go with my family.
I am planning to skip the trip if too risk for even my family.

I am worried about the current situations in India. Any suggestions please..

Thank you for your suggestions, its really appreciated.

Stamping in India is a nightmare - does not matter which consulate - most of them are getting pink or yellow or blue or whatever color

Bottom line u will get advised by different people up here - if u ask me - i would say - dont risk it - i have few friends who are stuck in admin processing for months and they wish they had not done it

Just an FYI - i did go to India - chennai in dec 2010 and got stuck in admin processing

Do you think its risk for H4?

Thank you very much Sairam for your quick reply.

Do i need to have valid(not expired) Visa to get my wife H4 Visa?

What i am trying find out is, can i send me wife and kids to India without me. Do you think it is rick sending my family for H4 without me?

I understand what your question is

If you have a valid 797 approval of H1b - i dont see any problem in your family going for stamping

In front of my eyes - a H4 applicant was rejected - reason being they saw something fishy on employers details of h1b and told her that the employer is not capable of providing employment

Now a days they are randomly giving pink slip for every tom dick and harry....

Like i have said before - all the others will start advising you what to do - be the judge based on ur decision

I have couple of guys who came on the same day for stamping and they are all stuck in admin processing.....They wish they had not gone for vacation as we are doomed to be in circle of H1b - the curse
