Vacation to another state without Visa Stamping

Hi,

I am in USA now. I got the H1B Extension for 3 years until 2013. My Visa got expired Aug 2010.I didn't go to india for stamping.i am planning for the vacation to new york.
a) can i go to another state within USA without VISA stamping.
b) In the airport security what i have to say if they ask about the VISA stamping.
c) i know we don't need stamping unless we are going out of usa.but some stupid airport security people questions.

please share your ideas or experience like this.

No one will question you for travel within US. Carry your extension papers if you are visiting states like AZ. Visa is an entry document only. Once you enter, I-94 governs your legal stay.

the way they are treating us - one day we might have to show Visa while using the rest room also

on a serious note - u dont need visa documents when travelling within us -

its always better to keep a copy of all ur paper work especially in states like AZ, TX or CA
