L1 to H1 transfer

Hi,
Currently I am in US on L1 visa. I am an employee of an X company. Y company has offered me a job. New employer is interested in filling H1 petition. I think 1st April is the starting date for filling new year petition.
We are planning to do premium processing.
Suppose if petition gets approved in April end or so,
can I start working for that company?

You cannot start working immediatly in the April end or may. You can able to work with Company Y from the Oct 1st. Till that time you can work on your L-1 with Company X.
