  • H1-B Stamping

    Hi all,

I got my H1 approved (Change of status from F1 - OPT to H1B)by november 2010 and i got it for an year i.e till november 2011.

Do i need to Go to India before november for stamping or i can apply for the extension and go India later for stamping?

As this is the first time, i do not know whether i have to get it stamped mandatory before it expires or is it fine having it done after the extension. People say many and i am confused what to do.

    Need help! Thanks in advance!

Stamping (Visa) is just an entry document to U.S. You don't have to go out of the country just to get the stamping done. You can file your H1B extension and get the visa stamped whenever you go out of the country. H1B visa is required for you to re-enter in H1B status. However, if the extension is filed, then it is never advisable to leave the country until you get the decision on your extension.
