I-539 F1 to H4

Hi,

I am an F-1 student and my OPT will expire next month. I need to change my status to H4. In form I-539, part 3, I think I should be answering yes to for question 2 “Is this application based on an extention or change of status already granted to your spouse” and put my husband's USCIS receipt # (I-797). Could you please confirm this.

Yes, your status is based on your spouse's H1 status. Write their approval notice number.
