Change Of Status

Hi Experts,

I am Ashif, from India. I am on student Visa(f1) now. I am new here in US. my course has just started only 2.5 months back. Now I am seeking a job which I am sure to get as I have relevant experience in that field. My plan is to quit the studies if I get that job. But is there issue to convert my visa status from F1 to H1..? Do I need to stay here for any specific duration as a student before applying for a job Visa? What all are the issues awaiting me if I am heading with this plan of change of status now?

If you have the required qualification and experience then you can get the H1B and start working when your status changes from F1 to H1B. When you go to stamping the next time, you might be asked why you had to discontinue your studues just within 2.5 months of reaching U.S. It might give an impression to the VO that you actually used F1 visa to get to U.S to look for jobs. So be prepared to answer that question.
