I will be applying for an H1B visa to start working on October 1st.
My problem is that the prevailing wage given by the Department of Labor website for my job (entry-level civil engineer) is higher than the salary the company wants to pay me.
So the only way I could show a salary above the prevailing wage would be to include benefits such as health insurance.
Could you tell me if I can include health insurance in my salary to be above the prevailing wage?
Or if you have any other suggestion, I would appreciate. The DOL gives a prevailing wage that is ridiculously high, so no company would accept to pay me that much.
Thanks a lot for helping me!
