  • Visa Stamping and Port of Entry

    Hello All,

I live in US with a valid H1B visa and it expires on "08/27/2011".

Meanwhile i applied for extension and it is approved for "08/28/2011" to "08/27/2014"

If i travel before "08/27/2011", do i still need to go for visa stamping in a US consulate outside US.

    Thanks

There is no need to get the visa stamped if you return back before your current visa expires. You can show both the approval notices at the POE and get an I-94 until the extended petition's expiry date. If you do not have a valid visa on the date of return, then you need to get it stamped.
