H1 Transfer

Hi,

What are the transfer fees (including attorney fees) for a person on an H1b visa from one employer to another employer? I have recently been in contact with a new employer and they said it was going to cost $8000. Does this sound right? Looking around I found it would cost between $1440-$2190 depending on the size of the company plus the attorney fees.

The fee differs based on the employer size, number of H1B employees in the company etc. Go to /show-form/i-129 and download the I-129 filing instruction and it has the fee structure listed. The attorney fee will also vary based on the attorney.

The H1B filing fee should be taken care by the employer. It is illegal to pay for your own H1B.
