H1b extension for 1 year

Hi All

These day I am hearing a lot that h1b is being approved for a year . Even though employers are requesting for 3 years.

I searched on internet, but I could not find any solid answer. So I thought of posting this question here.

Any light/suggestion on this will be highly appreciated.

Just because the employer requested for a 3 year extension, USCIS doesn't blindly approve it. The employer need to prove that they have work for the next 3 years. The extension is approved only based on the work itinerary provided by the employer.
