Hello,
I hold a master of arts degree from an English university with the majors "Computational Linguistics" and "Linguistics" and have about 2 years of relevant experience outside of academia (programming internships in companies).
I just got a job offer from Google as "software engineer." Will my formal educational background be a problem for an H1B visa since it is "computational linguistics/linguistics", not a master of science/computer science? Does the petition for a "software engineer" job require a bachelor/master exactly in "computer science" ?
Any recommendations? Help would be greatly appreciated!
