  • Extension during 6th year

    Hi

I have around 4 months left for my visa H1b which expires on Dec 25th 2011.

I have got my labor and I-140 approved.

what is the time duration that takes to get my H1B extension of 3 years when I apply in Normal Processing.

Your answer will help me to decide if I need to apply for extension under Normal or Premium processing as I will be left with the last 4 months of my H1B on my 6th year.

Usually 2-3 months (sometimes 4 months) by normal process and 15 days by premium. If you are planning to go for normal processing, then it is advisable to file it now. The extension can be filed 6 months prior to the I-94 expiry date.
