Hi,
My wife's employer is looking to offer her either L1B or H1B. We are confused which is the best as each of it has its own merit and demerits. So i am looking for your advice.
In my company they offered me B1 and i had been twice to US - CA.
Now I requested my employer for L1 or H1 but they are not ready by now. So I have to go as dependent with my wife if she gets L1 or H1.
If my wife applies for L1B,
1. What is the possibility of getting the L1B for her and L2 for me at this time? (Considering that I am 5+ yrs exp in Datacom development and i am having valid B1 and had been to US twice(Oct 2009 and Oct 2010), my wife is 2+ exp in people soft and applying for US visa first time)
2. Can we apply in parallel for her L1 and my L2 and the interview can be scheduled in the same time? and visa can be obtained in the same time?
3. Is it possible to get a job for me as L2 in US after obtaining EAD considering the current market scenario?
4. Can i search a job and employed while applied and waiting for EAD?
Now a days it seems we can apply for EAD and before it comes we can apply SSN by providing L1 and Marriage certificate and using that we can work? (not sure but something like that) or any other way?
5. i see from this forum that the processing time for H1 normal processing is about 4-6 months and for premium processing 2 weeks, what about L1 processing time? (What is blanket L1 vs individual L1)
In case if she applies for H1B,
1) What is the possibility of getting the H1B for her and H4 for me at this situation considering our exp? I hardly see this kind of case where wife is on H1 and husband is on H4
So i doubt is it easy for me to obtain H4. VO will think much at the time of interview
2) I see COS H4 to H1 is possible but we have to relay on our own luck? Still can i consider H4 or ignore?
In Simple merit compare,
If she gets L1 means then she has to stick to her employer but if i get L2 means i will be luckiest rather than her as i can work for any employer in US.
Else if she get H1 mean she can work for any but that would be let me down as it is not easy for me to get L1 or H1 that easily.
