Hi,
I am new to the forum and would require your advice on my unique visa situation.
I moved from Company A to company B, but the new company (B) 'forgot' to process my H-1B visa transfer. They have started premium processing and I have received the receipt for my new visa petition. I have a valid H-1B visa stamped in my passport valid through sep 2012, i am just waiting for a new approval notice.
i would just have to go across the border and get a new I-94 stamped with the new approval notice validity date. (No consulate visit)
My question is regarding my trip to Canada. Can i apply for a canadian visa with my H-1B application receipt (I-797 C) instead of the approval notice (I-797)? Would there be an issue getting my canadian visa?
I would be traveling to canada with my approval notice but just to expedite things, i was thinking if i could apply for the visa with just the receipt.
Your help/suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks,
ncdwar
