Automatic visa revalidation - H1B and H4

Hi,

My H1B and my wife's H4 visa will expire this September. We have our H1B and H4 extension approvals with the new I-94.

We would like to visit Toronto, Canada for 3-4 days.
We have also applied for our Canadian visitors' visas.

Could we use Automatic Visa Revalidation to re-enter US?
OR
Is AVR only for J and F class visas?

Forgot to mention that our previous I-94's will also expire this September.

Staple your new I-94's to the old ones. When you leave the US, make sure your I-94's are not removed. If Canada trip is less than 30 days and you don't visit any other country, you can return to the US with your I-94's and you don't need any Visa.
