I was looking for an end to end guide for H1 B Visa Stamping right from the Approval till the time you get your passport back.
Can you point me to any such post.
Below is my understanding, could you experts please correct me where I am wrong. I would rewrite the process (if not available) and post it on the forum.
Assumptions: You have got your visa extension / transfer approvals
1) Pay the Visa fees at the approved HDFC Branches and obtain the receipt. The receipt is valid for one year, so you can use it whenever you want within a year's time.

2) Fill up the DS160 form with all the relevant information.
Question: Do I need any information from my I-797 or I-539 while submitting DS160?
3) Schedule an appointment through VFS website for a suitable date at a suitable location. This depends upon availability so you should keep looking for the suitable date. You would need the DS160 Barcode and the HDFC Receipt information during scheduling the appointment.
4) FOR MUMBAI APPLICANTS ONLY: Send all the required documents to the VFS office minimum three working days before your actual interview date.
5) Appear for the interview on the scheduled date & time. Be confident, make sure you have all the relevant documents in original with you. You will need to show the appointment letter before entering the building. I think you will be security checked before entering the actual consulate building. Then you will have to stand in one queue for the finger prints. Once done with the finger print, you will have to go back and wait till your number is called. They will announce the serial # s and the window #. Take a deep breath, pray to God for your visa interview, you should go to the window for the visa interview. Make sure that you are confident enough at this point of time so that you dont fumble and make any mistake. Answer all the questions and you would be notified about your visa interview result. Whether your visa is approved / rejected or if there are any additional documents required. Typically you should be able to pick up your passport the next day from the VFS office.

Question: i) I dont exactly remember the process which takes place in the Consulate. I have documented whatever I remember.
ii) Do I need wedding photographs for renewal stamping as well?
